The Apartment Building is a location that appears for a brief section of the Apartment Ending, leading the player to Stanley's Apartment.
Information[]
The Apartment Building is accessed by answering the phone in the Phone Room. The building has red carpeting, grey walls, a pink desk lamp that is turned on and placed on a brown and wooden desk with a drawer, an elevator is visible on the opposite end of the hall from the player, with the hallways continuing to the left of the elevator. Aside from the apartment labeled "427", belonging to Stanley and his wife at the end of the hall, the apartments of Employee 426 and Employee 425 are also present here.
Attempting to disobey the Narrator by going down the hallway will result in him raising a brick wall from the floor to stop the player from going anywhere else, resulting in the dialogue, "Sorry, but you're in my story now."
Bucket Version[]
When carrying The Stanley Parable Reassurance Bucket, the apartment building area no longer appears as a hallway, but as a black, box-shaped room illuminated blue solely by the already open apartment door. Stanley's apartment is now labeled "427B" instead of "427" and is accompanied by a doorbell right underneath the number, appearing as a white, dimly glowing and protruding button with a bell symbol on it, emitting a typical ringing sound when interacted with. A piece of large cardboard lays on the floor to the right of the room.
The "B" now present in the room number could be for how this is a completely different version of the apartment that players are used to and/or it could stand for "Bucket".
Trivia[]
- If cheats are enabled, the brick wall can be removed. However, it is still not possible to walk further due to the presence of an invisible wall.
- All doors in this area except for Stanley's apartment lead to white space.
- The elevator in the apartment building appears to be the same model as the elevator in the Elevator Room.
