This is the narration for the Games Ending.

Going into Minecraft (HD Remix)[]

Well, Stanley, is this any better?

At last, the one thing you've always desired: a game I had absolutely nothing to do with. But is it enough? Tell me that, Stanley. Will it ever be enough?

Well, I'll say this, I'm done making things for you. For now on, I will only create to fulfill a greater artistic purpose.

Watch this, Stanley, I'm going to build a house!

*humming* This will go... here!

NO! Here. And then... *humming*

Let's see, what does it need... ah, yes, of course! And just to finish it all off...

Yess! It's complete! I made this, Stanley. Look at it. Gaze upon my work of art and feel ashamed at your own inadequacy.

Ah, but you've only seen it from the outside. You've only gotten half the experience. Please, step inside and make yourself comfortable.

Walking in[]

Isn't it grand? Isn't it perfect? It could only be better if-

Wait, that's it! We must rebuild it out of diamond! Diamond everything! Yes, yes, yes... come along, Stanley, we have to go mining!

Going into cave[]

Oh my, it looks like it's going to get a bit dark. Have you brought a light?

Further into cave[]

Oh no no no no no. This is far too open-ended than I had in mind. I'm looking for something more narrow and linear,

something that really makes you feel utterly irrelevant. This won't do it at all. One out of five; even the diamonds couldn't save this one. Okay, new game!

Going into Portal (HD Remix)[]

Hahahahaha! YES! I don't even know what this game is, but I love it!

You... trapped in a glass box, with no way out, listening to me talk.... Oh, it's inspired. I couldn't have done it any better myself.

What is this game even supposed to be? I can't figure it out. Okay, now I'm curious. Let's go find out what the hell

Entering Test Chamber 00[]

Ohhh! It's a puzzle! Critical thinking, Stanley. Your forté.

Placing Weighted Storage Cube on the Heavy-Duty Super-Colliding Super Button[]

Genius. (Used in-game)

Hahahahaha! *clapping* Genius! (Unused alternative)

Getting trapped[]

Now, how did you manage that? Are you really trapped in here? I'm actually quite impressed! I don't think there's a simpler puzzle out there, and you've still broken it!

Well, since I don't intend to open that door, I guess you and this giant button just need to get cozy together. A dream for you, I'm sure. Enjoy.

Entering chamberlock[]

No, actually, you know what? I think that's plenty.

I really don't care much to see you stumble through any more of these games, and I highly doubt you're any wiser for the experience. Which is why rather than continue to waste my time, I'm just going to leave you here.

You can pretend you've beaten the game if it makes it any richer for you, but as for me, I've had enough.

So, why don't you get cozy in this room, and if you have any grand revolutionary ideas for the perfect video game, you can just sit there and let it ball up inside you for all eternity.

I don't need your advice. I don't need your ratings. And I certainly don't need the validation of a man whose job is to push buttons.

I think I'll just go about my business making meaningful cultural contributions to the world. And perhaps every now and then, I'll think back to a man named Stanley who was objectively wrong in every decision he ever made. The thought won't last long.

Goodbye, Stanley. Good luck with your work, and I sincerely hope that everyone lives happily ever after.

Going into Firewatch (Ultra Deluxe)[]

The Watchtower[]

Aha, fascinating! What do you think this game is about, Stanley? What's our backstory? What is our motivation? Hmm. Well it seems obvious to me that you are meant to play as a creepy man spying on innocent civilians below you from up high in your creep-tower perhaps for some twisted, erotic purpose.

Hmm. Yes, that must be it. What a fascinating venture into the experience of total mental depravity. So far I love everything about this game, Stanley. And it seems there's even more! Come, let's venture outward and see what else is out there!

Descending the Tower[]

Oh no. No, no, no, no, it can't be.

Attempting to explore[]

It is! It's an open-world game! Good god! Quickly! Block it off!

Boxed off[]

Oh! Thank goodness, Stanley. What a close call. You nearly wandered off into that - that thing! That big open - just wandering around, no right or wrong directions! No path to follow! You can just go in any - [groaning] Oh, thank heavens we avoided it! We're out of the woods now, Stanley.

Okay, I'm going to get us out of here, let's find another game. Preferably something with walls, something with nice big insurmountable walls. [Humming] Okay! I think this will be just the thing.

Going into Rocket League (Ultra Deluxe)[]

Arriving at the pitch[]

Wonderful! See, this is exactly what I had in mind! Just a nice big box for you to run around in. There isn't any possibility that you could get lost here! Now this is game design! Stanley, if you manage to get lost in this game, I will be phenomenally impressed.

Okay, so what exactly do we do here, let's see. There are lots of cars here in the back, but obviously there's no racetrack. Okay, I'm seeing that there's a ball of some kind back here. Is this game Sportsball? Stanley, I think it's Sportsball! Oh, what fun! We shall run the bases and do a touchdown together. Yes, I think surely we must. Okay Stanley, here's the ball. Have fun!

One ball[]

Are you doing it? Are you winning? Is this fun? Is it better than my miserable little story that I worked so hard on? Stanley, I have a thought. And I realize I'm not a sportsologist, but if one ball generates a certain amount of raw adrenal pleasure, then surely multiple balls makes for an even more euphoric sports experience. I'm going to try it out, here comes another ball.

Two balls[]

Yes! Oh goodness, that really does feel amazing, doesn't it? Stanley, I'm like a child in a confectionery shop! I simply have to have more, I'm insatiable! More balls!

Many more balls[]

Are you enjoying this, Stanley? Are you having fun? Is this a real video game? Well I sure hope you're having a good time because guess what? It's over.

All balls removed[]

That's right. Your little fun comes to an end. This is my game, and what I say goes. You get to have fun when I let you, Stanley. Besides, you need someone like me to set boundaries for you. Without rules or boundaries, video games are nothing. Yes, that's what I am. I am structure. I'm your sense of purpose.

And since you decided you didn't want to play my game, now I don't want to play with you either, so goodbye Stanley! I'm leaving. See how you like it when I'm not around to set the rules. Somehow, I don't think you'll enjoy it as much. But who knows? You're an inventive kid, you'll come up with something. After all, you're the one who knows best! Take care, Stanley.

Falling into the goal holes[]

Hold on. What are you doing?

The original office[]

Jumping into hole (unused in HD Remix)[]

No... wait!

Stanley? Where are you? Don't go anywhere! I can't follow you there; I can't help you!

You need to come back, you need to... no, just... just stay there. I'll find a way to get you out!

Landing (Ultra Deluxe only)[]

Stanley, don't do that, I can't follow you there, I can't help you. How will you write a story without me? You can't do it, you know that! Stanley! Come back, we still have so much - (the Narrator's audio gradually lowers, so the rest of his speech is unknown)

After leaving the original 427 office[]

I wonder what he found.

If what he wanted was to be the leading man in his own story, well, perhaps he's gotten it, down in... wherever he is right now.

I wonder if he's happy with his choice, and if he's learned the heavy cost that comes with it.

He'll understand soon what I was trying to tell him. He needs me, someone who will wrap everything up at the end - to make sense out of the chaos and the fear and the confusion.

That's who I am. That is what I mean to this world.

Oh, yes. Yes, I'll be back. There's no other way. Once this ends, after it all comes to a close, then I'll be back.

The end will be here soon. Very soon.

I can wait.
