"Have you played The Stanley Parable before?" is a line of dialogue spoken by the Settings Person in the first boot up of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. The player is given the option to answer either yes or no. It is connected to how many endings must be completed by the player before the New Content door is unlocked.

In the game's code, some endings are internally given points upon completion which are counted towards the New Content door's appearance and activation. A completed ending can give three, one, or zero points. Points for an ending can only be earned once meaning that, for example, the Mariella Ending cannot be completed twice to earn enough points to unlock the New Content door - it has to be unique.

If the player selected "Yes", 6 points are needed.
If the player selected "No", 15 points are needed.

Activating the Content Warnings accessibility setting allows sections that deal with suicide, trauma, and mental health issues to be skipped and still be counted as complete.

Endings that give 3 points[]

Endings that give 1 point[]

Endings that give 0 points[]

Endings not available prior to unlocking the New Content door[]

In the case of the Paywall Ending[]

The Paywall Ending activates the moment that the player has earned enough points to unlock the New Content door, thus it cannot be accessed whilst playing on the free trial version of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe on iOS. Paying for the full game during this ending resets the points counter.

Trivia[]

  • The Museum Ending is counted as complete upon the Curator saying "Oh, look at these two." instead of upon the game restarting.
  • Since the Tape Recorder Ending is counted as completed upon doing the Press Conference Ending and vice versa, the sum of the endings' points (4) are achieved at the same time.
    • For example, completing the Tape Recorder Ending grants 4 points and completing the Press Conference Ending afterwards grants 0 points, as they were already earned.

Footnotes[]

  1. Completing the Press Conference Ending causes the Tape Recorder Ending to be counted as complete.
