Mumbling and Mumbling.

Mumbletown (also called Empty town when lacking the speaker) is a secret location mentioned in The Stanley Parable Helpful Development Showcase, and present as an out-of-bounds area in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. It is located on the other side of the Wormhole connecting the Employee Lounge hallway and the Two Doors Room, located in the right door's doorframe.

According to The Stanley Parable Helpful Development Showcase, this room contains nothing but a large speaker that plays Narrator doing mumbling sounds. In the game, however, the speaker is absent.

Dialogue[]

Mumbletown has four lines of recordings made by Kevan Brighting where he was merely told by the developers to mumble incoherently, "No thoughtful narration, no witty jokes or philosophical musings, just nonsensical mouth noises." The Stanley Parable Helpful Development Showcase claims for the speaker to contain "a multi-hour-long continuous audio file of the narrator mumbling incoherently," but only a total of 145 seconds (2 minutes and 25 seconds) of mumbling are revealed in the Helpful Development Showcase alongside the article.

Description[]

Mumbletown is a room the size of the Two Doors Room with a difference where it lacks all furniture and items, the two windows, and the left door, leaving nothing else than the right door, which can't be opened. There are two light sources on the walls emanating from where the windows normally are. The ceiling lights are also missing. If one were able to open the door leading out of Mumbletown, they would meet a dead-end corner hallway, which is a placeholder for the other side of the regular right door wormhole hallway.

How to reach it[]

Tutomt

Enter the right door in the Two Doors Room, noclip above or below the doorframe and drop to the other side of the door. If one attempts to open the right door again, it would simply lead them back to the Two Doors Room.

Accessing this area requires a NoClip mod.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Mumbletown can appear as a sequel wallpaper after completing the Epilogue on any number of sequels, excluding any stable title screens.
  • Mumbletown doesn't exist in the HD Remake, as there isn't a room on the other side of the right door wormhole, instead the wormhole stays and takes you to a decomposed version of the Two Doors Room.
