Oh my god... it's the boss's office.

Narrator

The Press Conference Ending (also known as the Elevator Ending) is the the ending that occurs when you continually go up and down the elevator in the Boss's Office that leads to the entrance to the Mind Control Facility.

This ending is exclusive to Ultra Deluxe.

Obtaining The Ending[]

Exit Stanley's office. At the Two Doors Room, pick the one on the left. Continue through the Boss's Office and open the door. Once you reach the elevator, press the down button. Once the elevator has reached the bottom, press the up button. Repeat this a number of times.

The Ending[]

The Narrator will sarcastically comment about how Stanley coming back up to the Boss's Office "fleshed out the plot the story in new and fascinating ways" among other false praises. When Stanley goes back down, The Narrator assumes Stanley will continue on from here.

If Stanley goes up again, The Narrator will pretend to be in shock that the Boss's Office is still at the top of the elevator, even adding a "dun dun dun" sound effect. The Narrator, now clearly bored, cuts to a screen with a drinking bird toy drinking from a coffee cup with "Please Hold" on-screen so he can process Stanley's storytelling. After it ends, he puts it back up, needing more time to process. Once Stanley goes back down, The Narrator again acts shocked.

If Stanley goes back up a third time, the Narrator will stop and slow down the elevator, praising him for switching from each location. The Narrator sarcastically claims to perceive it as a revolutionary breakthrough in art that should be appreciated and lived up to. The Narrator even goes so far as to organize a press conference for Stanley to explain his creative genius to masses, after which Stanley exits into and is able to explore the backstage area of the press conference.

Eventually, Stanley finds his way to the stage, before an audience of thousands of fans cheering him on. He approaches the podium the player hears his heart beating faster and faster, and the game fades to white before resetting.

With The Bucket[]

"Wow!" he said, "the number 3 is such a special button! I'm having the time of my life!"

Stanley convincing the Bucket about the Number 3

If Stanley is holding The Bucket, the Narrator explains that Stanley's tedious and repetitive trips up and down the elevator were due to his strange captivation with the number 3 on the bosses' keypad. The Bucket is unable to see the merit in this new and profound hobby, which upsets Stanley.

Eventually, Stanley organizes his own press conference, hoping to explain to The Bucket about the nuance and wonder of the Number 3. The backstage area is largely similar same for minor cosmetic changes such as the number 3 written on numerous surfaces, but upon stepping out on stage Stanley finds the entire center empty, with nobody caring to hear him speak about his new passion. But Nobody Came (not the one from undertale) starts playing as Stanley gets depressed due to him not being able to show the importance of his passion to the bucket.

Eventually the Narrator describes Stanley and The Bucket drifting apart, their friendship destroyed by their inability to understand one another, before the game resets.

Post-Bucket Ending Changes (persists indefinitely)[]

  • If Stanley takes the Bucket with him to the Boss's Office in a run after having completed the Elevator Ending and enters "3333" into the regular keypad, the Narrator will comment how the Bucket doesn't bother anymore about the magic of the number 3, although he admits that the bucket remembers how much it means to Stanley.

Trivia[]

  • The up button was not present on the elevator in the HD Remix.
  • It is not necessary to press any buttons on the keypad in either versions of this ending.
  • A certain trigger can be activated by checking the checkbox on the whiteboard in the backstage. This makes the announcer from the New Content Ending change to a diffrent voice.
  • In the bucket version of the ending, when going up the elevator for the final time, a person can be seen watching Stanley next to a truck.
  • This ending has the most Low Poly Rats of all new endings added in Ultra Deluxe in the game.
