The Serious Room is a room separate from the rest of the office complex. The Narrator claims the table was picked out of thousands of other serious tables.
It can only be accessed by typing sv_cheats 1 into the console. When this occurs, the game loads the Serious Room map, taking you straight to the Serious Ending.
Once Stanley gets in this room, The Narrator explains what might happen if you try to cheat, and how this can break the game. Typing sv_cheats 1 again will grant more dialogue, third time some more, and a fourth time he will give up.
The only way to exit this room is by either quitting the game, or beginning the game again.
In the Ultra Deluxe version, the room can be spotted in the Memory Zone. However it can't be entered because it is blocked by boxes.
There is another reference to the Serious Room in Ultra Deluxe. Before getting onto the first elevator in the New Content door (post-epilogue), look to the right. The area is fenced off, but on the floor there is a pile of papers, all containing multiple pictures of tables and nothing else. This is in reference to the narrator looking at “tens of thousands of tables” in order to find a serious enough table for the serious room.
