Oh, Stanley, is that you? Hold on sweetie, sorry to keep you waiting. I'm just pulling the bread out of the oven.
Stanley's Wife
Stanley's wife is an animate mannequin who plays the role of Stanley's wife in the story. Her main appearance is during the Apartment Ending.
It is possible to encounter her over the phone in the starting area of the Office right after exiting Stanley's Office on random restarts, either done manually or after completing endings.
Characteristics[]
In The Stanley Parable franchise, Stanley's wife is represented by mannequin monocolored in white, created by the Narrator to mock Stanley for assuming that a person would commit their life to him, despite that being the exact thing that the Narrator is doing.
It's uncertain what Stanley's wife truly looks like, as she never makes a physical, human appearance anywhere in the games. It is proven that she exists in some way, due to the random phone calls that Stanley may receive while in the Office upon restarts, though the mannequin appearance may be her true appearance, as in, her whole purpose is to not be a real person.
Personality[]
Stanley's wife is a gentle and caring individual whenever she speaks to Stanley, apologizing for keeping him waiting and wanting to hear about how his day was. She appears to enjoy baking, that being the activity she was engaging in prior to opening the apartment door for Stanley. The Narrator describes her as a loving wife.[1] She sounds cheerful in her regular phone call towards Stanley despite the unintentional neglect she receives from him,[2] according to the Narrator as he speaks to the player while riding on the cargo lift.
From the regular phone call, it can be deduced that she gets up to her own activities unrelated to Stanley, as she seems too occupied to pick up groceries herself. What these activities may be remain unknown.
From the bucket phone call, it appears that she isn't afraid of been playful or cheeky, calling Stanley silly after assuming he had forgotten his bucket at home, offering to bring it over to him before realizing that the bucket doesn't belong to him. She appears to have a "Finders, keepers" mindset, choosing to keep the bucket for herself after seeing that it doesn't belong to anyone, though this may be a result of the bucket's ability to draw people in towards it with its reassuring qualities.
According to the instructions written in one of the phone call scripts present outside of Employee 416's office in Ultra Deluxe after unlocking the New Content door, the idea and purpose for Stanley's wife is to be and sound like the perfect wife for a simple man. Someone cute, flirtatious, all sugar and honey, to be the kind of woman a man like Stanley would spend all day thinking about, yearning to return to her embrace.
Appearances[]
She is mentioned prior to and within the Phone Room, and after answering the phone where she speaks to Stanley through the other side of the door, apologizing for keeping him waiting whilst she is supposedly pulling bread out of the oven befoe the apartment door is opened, revealing her to be a mannequin instead of an actual human person. A brief mention of her occurs in the Mariella Ending where Stanley wishes to return to his old life and see his wife again.
As Stanley's wife, she can be heard in one out of the three phone calls that occur at random from Employee 434's desk, where she asks Stanley to pick up groceries on his way home. All phone call variations have Aviva Pinchas as their voice actor, the other two callers using the voice of Stanley's wife to lull Stanley into a calm or less guarded emotional state, due to his familiarity with his wife.
In Ultra Deluxe[]

Stanley ♡ my true love for you grows every day. You make me feel alive. Your wife (from the Apartment Ending)
A note written by her to Stanley is seen in the backstage area on the mirror with the other pieces of fan mail in the Press Conference Ending about her continuously growing love for him, leaving a small tongue-in-cheek note about what ending she stars in.
An additional phone call from the same location as the other calls can be received from this character by picking up the bucket prior to answering the call, here she informs Stanley about having forgotten his bucket at home before realizing that it isn't his, choosing to take the bucket for herself after the found lack of a previous owner, quickly developing a fascination for said bucket.
She another physical appearance, still as a mannequin, in the Bucket Destroyer Ending alongside Stanley's other friends from the first game. She is placed directly opposite to the Maintenance Elevator which the player rides down.
Trivia[]
- As with the Female Narrator, the voice actor of Stanley's wife, Aviva Pinchas,[3] is only credited in the game's Museum and not in the Credits.
- This is updated for Ultra Deluxe, now appearing in both segments of the regular credits for her voicework.
